Eddie Money has been around for many years and has been playing at the Casino Ballroom at Hampton Beach for many of those years. He pointed that out more times than I can count how he loves playing there and from all accounts the packed house loved it just as much.
Boston based Redwood Honey led by Sam Haiman on vocals/guitar, guitarist Joey Dougherty, Matt Daspit on keys and drummer Nick Groat opened the show and sounded great! They were introduced to the crowd by Eddie Money himself. They did several original songs including their recently released "Six Strings and Me". They also covered the Doobie Brothers song Black Water. They brought their own feel it and the crowd definitely loved it.
Money's set started out with "Baby Hold on to Me" which got the audience pumped.
The night was hit after hit with "Two Tickets to Paradise" in which Money invited singer Sam Haiman up to sing a few lines, I Think I'm In Love", "Take Me Home Tonight" and more you can see the full setlist here . The crowd danced and sang along with every song. My two favorites were "No Control" where Eddie played a mean harmonica and rockin version of "Gimme Some Water" . The night ended with "Shakin" and the Casino Ballroom was definitely doing that.
